How did your fiance (or you) propose?
He proposed in a super sweet way that was perfect for our relationship. He took me back up to Dahlonega for my birthday because he knows how much I love it up there (I lived up there for 4 years during school and wanted to live there forever, but his job had other plans for us). It is also special because that is the town we met in and where we fell in love. Anyway, we spent the whole day doing things I love--going to the corn maze, meeting up with friends, and visiting a few places that I missed so dearly! We ended the day at my old house where my best friend still lived, which happened to be the house where Eli and I first met. We were feeling all nostalgic and talking about how that house will always hold a special place in our hearts. We eventually made our way to the front porch because we wanted to relive how we used to always stay out there talking. In the middle of all our reminiscing, he looked at me, said “now feels right” and handed me a card. I thought it was a birthday card but as I opened it, I realized what was happening. The card had all these sweet words about love but I didn’t even read it because I was distracted by the ring taped to the corner and my man down on one knee in front of me! He grabbed my hand and said, “I
love you more each day . . . marry me?” Of course, I said yes! It was the most perfect proposal. Simple and sweet but it contained everything that meant so much to me. He knew my heart and knew exactly how to make that the most amazing day of my life. Now that house means even more to us! We met, fell in love and got engaged in that house and town. Dahlonega will always be my favorite town, and Eli will always be my favorite guy.
Did you know the proposal was coming?
I knew it was coming soon, but I didn't know when or how it was going to happen.
How long was your engagement?
We had a 7-month engagement.
Where did you find inspiration for what to wear?
Pinterest! I knew I wanted Fall pictures so I just looked up a few pictures and then put together my outfits!
How did you end up deciding on your outfits?
I had a clear vision in my head so it wasn't hard for me to decide on my outfit. It was way harder to find Eli something to wear. That boy does not like to dress up!
Did you get your hair and makeup done? If so, by who?
I did it myself! I wanted someone to do it, but we took sunrise pictures and no one wanted to get up at 3AM to do my hair and makeup. I don't blame them though!
Did you use the same photographer you plan to use for the wedding?
Yes!
Who was your photographer and do you recommend them?
Brooke Couch! She is incredible and I definitely recommend her!
How much did your engagements pictures cost?
They were included in the price of the wedding package. In total it was around $1-2k. That included an engagement session, 8 hours of shooting (the day of), a second shooter, an album, and 500-1000 edited pictures.
Were you or your partner nervous about getting the pictures taken?
Not really because we had taken pictures professionally before and our photographer was really good about making us feel relaxed.
Do you have any advice for those who haven't had their engagement pictures taken yet?
Just have fun with it! Laughing and candid pictures are always the best, so relax and have fun!
If you could go back and change anything about your pictures, what would you do differently?
I honestly wouldn't change anything about my engagement pictures. They turned out perfectly and exactly what I wanted.
About how many pictures did you get back from your photographer?
I believe it was around 250 pictures.
Which ONE picture would you say is your favorite?
What season did you have your pictures taken in? What was the weather like that day?
We took them in November, so Fall. It was freezing and windy! But it worked out because my favorite pictures are the ones with my hair blowing in the wind. I curled my hair perfectly, and the wind destroyed it. I was so scared I would hate the pictures because of my hair, but my photographer is amazing and they turned out amazing!
