You Groom Accidentally Saw Your Dress... Now What?!
You’ve started planning. You’ve picked out invitations. You’ve set a date. You said yes to the dress. Then your groom happened to see a picture of you in your dress. Oh no! He’s not supposed to see you in your wedding dress until your wedding day! Now what?!
First, take a deep breath and don't panic. Everything will be okay, I promise!
Second, try to realize that men don’t notice details the same way we do. If you asked him a week later what it looked like, he’d most likely say “a white dress.”
Third, remember the fact that the dress will look totally different in-person, on the day of the wedding. Not only will the detail stand out more, but you will look completely different because you will have your hair and makeup done. He won’t even connect those dots.
Fourth, do not force yourself to get a new dress over this. All too often I hear brides freak out about this situation and wonder if they should get a new dress. You DO NOT need to do that. Even if he was going through your closet and saw the dress IN PERSON, it doesn’t matter. Because on the day of the wedding, it will be a totally new experience no matter what. The dress will NOT look the same in a picture or on a hanger as it does on you in real life.
Fifth, if you’re still nervous about it, one thing you can definitely do that WILL work...flood him with pictures of dresses. Show him pictures of you in every other dress you tried on. Show him pictures of dresses from google. Show him pictures of any and all wedding dresses. He will have no idea what yours looked like anymore. Sensory overload!
No matter what happens, it will be okay. I know it’s an easy thing to panic over, but it happens to a LOT of us! Don’t let it stress you out! You have enough to worry about already!
