12 Reasons to Get Married at a Camp!
Love the outdoors? Want a rustic venue? Just want something a little different from what everyone else is doing? Then why not try a summer camp!

2) Often there is an indoor space you can use as well as tons of space outdoors
Most camps have a large lodge or dining hall that you can use as a rain backup plan, or even plan to have your ceremony outdoors and reception indoors or vice versa.
3) They have amazing scenery
You need less decor when the venue itself is stunning, so you can save money!
Plus the beautiful scenery will make for some amazing wedding photos!
4) Campfires
S’mores bar, here we come! Try using different flavors of marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate bars for a gourmet twist.
You can also get some amazing wedding pictures by the campfire. Plus, you can snuggle by the campfire at night.

5) Choice of vendors
Most of the time you can choose your own vendors at summer camps so that you aren’t stuck to limited menus or minimum bar tabs. Save extra money by having a casual barbecue!
6) Nostalgia
So many people went to summer camp when they were kids, this will bring back childhood memories for your guests!
7) Dogs are often allowed

8) Most of the time you get the campsite for the entire weekend
Having a getaway wedding weekend can be really fun! You can have your rehearsal there the day before, or spend the day setting everything up with your closest friends and family.

9) Yard Games
With all that open space, why not go with the summer camp theme and set up some fun yard games for everyone! Trust me, the guests who don’t like to dance will thank you. Think glow-in-the-dark ring toss, pool noodle javelin throw, yard Jenga, corn-hole (bean bag toss), etc!
10) Fun Photo opportunities
The two of you on the dock, by the lake at sunset; all the bridesmaids in a canoe; yard game pictures; “No boys allowed” cabin sign on the bridesmaids' cabin the night before; marshmallow roasting by the fire. The sky is the limit!
11) Great excuse to wear flats or boots
Don’t love wearing heels? No problem! No one would expect you to wear heels when you get married at a camp. Wear whatever you want: cowboy boots, flats, combat boots, converse, etc.
12) Getting married at a camp often reduces costs in many ways
A lot of camps are in state parks and are non-profit, so the venue itself is actually cheaper to rent than some others
You can choose your vendors based more on your budget instead of based on who your venue recommends or who they contract with.
When your venue is that pretty, you need a lot less decor!
